Is it illegal to put commercials in your website without permission?

Hello, I have a website, which the content and everything is 100% copyrighted or I have a permission to use it. I want to put one commercial video of Coca Cola on my website where it will be seen by 99% of the users on my website. Is this going to be illegal or not ? Should I write an email to Coca-Cola to ask them if they allow me to post it on the website or not? Should that be a problem for both sides ? We are talking to a website with many users and advertising companies. Thanks in advance. I think this should not be a problem because Coca-Cola will get a free advertise and everyone knows that such kind of bad ad does not exist. Thanks in advance.

Realistically if they had a problem with it, for example if you were using it as part of an article slandering Cole, they wold probably send a cease and desist email and if you complied that would be the end of it.
I am not 100% of the rules of such a case, but a brand that has spent many Millions establishing an image is very sensitive about maintaining control of how their name is used.
A quick look through legal records find coke is the one being sued in the great majority of cases, I saw nothing about the misuse of their media.
if you can just embed a copy that you find on is hosted on youtube, it's probably safer than showing a copy you captured from the airwaves in which case your more of an originator.

The copyright owners of the commercial can sue you for copyright infringement. Whether you consider it "free advertising" has nothing to do with it.
They have made arrangements with others regarding the use of their copyrighted properties, not to mention their trademarks. In theory, you would be interfering with the right of the other commercial distributors to be paid for airing the very same commercial. They don't like that.

If you put that same commercial on Facebook is not illegal simply because you will make no money from it, you actually helping them advertising for free, they may even send you a thank you note.
It is only illegal if you make money from it.

What sort of room mate situation is this, is it like a dorm room thing or an apartment? Basically what I'm trying to find out is if there is an RA you can get involved, or some higher school authority?
Make it clear that the next time she uses something without your permission, especially something valuable like your iPod, you WILL report it stolen to whoever in a place of authority will listen. Might be extreme but if you've already talked to her and she's not listening, then clearly you need to get tougher on her
