There you go, having to explain your troll questions again. Keep trying though, I know one day you will finely get it right the first time. Oh, and at least ensure the troll is somewhat based in fact. In this case the simple fact is the Canadian economy and standard of living is far and away better then that of the US and it has been that way for a while now. Our banks are stable, our national debt is more then manageable and our housing market is strong. If anything the maple leaf stands for the abundance we have up here while your stars stand for your dreaming for a better day and a way out of your current mess. Personally, I`m flattered that you care enough about us to try to insult us. It just confirms how jealous you are.

Bet Originally Answered: When testing for starch in a leaf why is it necessary to put the leaf in boiling water?
Boiling the leaf kills the cells and destroys the enzymes in the leaf. This is to ensure that no starch is prepared by the leaf after it has been removed from the conditions (such as presence of sunlight, presence of CO2 etc. to prove that they are essential for photosynthesis) to be studied. The presence of starch after performing iodine test (after boiling the leaf, removing chlorophyll etc.) will confirm that starch was produced by the leaf in the conditions created by us and not afterwards. Hope it helped.

1. I don't understand what you are trying to ask. 2. You are just making yourself look like an idiot. 3. USA may have more ppl and more money than Canada (although if I recall you guys are in a lot of debt), but are Canada is NOT inferior. Trust me, we are happy and extremely thankful to be from this wonderful country, and if you think Canadians are jealous of USA, think again because we're not! I don't have the slightest desire to even visit the United States. We have a gorgeous country with everything we need. We have free health-care. People here are friendly, you can say hi to people on the street and they'll say hi back. We have the best hockey players (and before you go and say "best hockey players? you know Boston won the Stanley Cup, right?" well guess how many Americans were on that team? 3!). We have Tim Hortons :) We're not Hollywood/celebrity obsessed. We have a stable government that ISN'T a complete gong-show like American politics. We're not obsessed with invading other countries and killing as many people as we possibly can. We don't think it's cool to discriminate against homosexual people and limit their rights as human beings, hence same-sex marriage is legal here, as it should be everywhere! We have EpicMealTime! Haha! We are a bilingual country. We're not considered an "obese country". Our legal drinking age is 19 (18 in some provinces). Our beer isn't watered down! Terrorists attacked USA...not Canada! Canadians are very aware of what is going on in the world outside of our own country. I could go on and on and on. Oh, and the USA is one of the most hated countries in the world, whereas people from all over the world actually like Canada. It's kinda nice to be able to travel abroad and not be afraid to show our nation's flag...and be damn proud of it, nonetheless! Btw, sounds like you are one of those people who have to put others down to make yourself feel better. Not saying anything, just saying... :)

Because of the financial hole the Americans have dug for themselves over the last 10 years we're going to see more and more of this hysterical blustering. I think we as Canadians should have some patience and compassion for our poor, frightened American neighbours, and realize they're gripped by panic and kind of out of control right now.

"The stripes colors have relevance to our former motherland Britain".. Good Lord...the stripes (13 of them) are from the original 13 colonies that attended the constitutional conference in Philadelphia in 1787.Great "edjukasion" system you have there...well,at least you knew what the stars were for ..lol... Methinks you're going to have a hard time learning Mandarin (that's Chinese) when they foreclose on your national debt.Cantonese is harder to learn, so I hear, so you better stick with Mandarin. (PS...no thanks,I'm fine I don't need a cart today...just getting a couple things..)..have a great day champ :)

Wow, it must be past someone's bedtime. You're a little cranky tonight and a bit obtuse. -- Ah I thought I recognised this troll. He's the one who left the silly comment about Canada being horrible or something like that. I think he must have been turned away at the border and is angry. Only reason I can think of for getting his panties in a bunch.

The US is falling apart and you're making fun of Canada? Canada has the best advanced economy in the world - http://www.economywatch.com/economy-busi... Compared to Americans, Canadians work less, live longer, enjoy better health and have more sex. And they're wealthier too. Go look it up and quit making a fool of yourself. Edit: The Canadian economy shrinking .3% doesn't magically change the fact that Canada's economy is still outperforming the US economy. Canada's fully recovered from the US-caused Global Recession - http://www.thedollartimes.com/canada-has... And Canada's still consistently creating more jobs than the US - http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/07/09... http://www.reuters.com/article/2011/07/08/canada-economy-jobs-idUSN1E76701920110708 Plus the Canadian dollar is still worth more than the US greenback - http://www.bankofcanada.ca/rates/exchange/daily-converter/ Or change the fact that Canada's education system is still the best in the world - http://www.nytimes.com/2010/07/23/education/23college.html?_r=4&hp http://www.livingabroadincanada.com/2010/07/26/canadians-rank-among-worlds-most-educated/ Nor does it change the fact that Canadians are still healthier and still live longer than Americans - http://www.ctv.ca/CTVNews/Health/20060530/canada_us_healthcare_060530/ http://www.reuters.com/article/2010/04/28/us-health-idUSTRE63R6B520100428 Nor does the economy shrinking by a tiny fraction change the fact that Canadians work less, have more sex, are richer too. So quit making a fool of yourself trying to argue against fact and reality.

§176. Respect for flag "No disrespect should be shown to the flag of the United States of America; the flag should not be dipped to any person or thing. Regimental colors, State flags, and organization or institutional flags are to be dipped as a mark of honor. * (a) The flag should never be displayed with the union down, except as a signal of dire distress in instances of extreme danger to life or property. * (b) The flag should never touch anything beneath it, such as the ground, the floor, water, or merchandise. * (c) The flag should never be carried flat or horizontally, but always aloft and free. * (d) The flag should never be used as wearing apparel, bedding, or drapery. It should never be festooned, drawn back, nor up, in folds, but always allowed to fall free. Bunting of blue, white, and red, always arranged with the blue above, the white in the middle, and the red below, should be used for covering a speaker's desk, draping the front of the platform, and for decoration in general. * (e) The flag should never be fastened, displayed, used, or stored in such a manner as to permit it to be easily torn, soiled, or damaged in any way. * (f) The flag should never be used as a covering for a ceiling. * (g) The flag should never have placed upon it, nor on any part of it, nor attached to it any mark, insignia, letter, word, figure, design, picture, or drawing of any nature. * (h) The flag should never be used as a receptacle for receiving, holding, carrying, or delivering anything. * (i) The flag should never be used for advertising purposes in any manner whatsoever. It should not be embroidered on such articles as cushions or handkerchiefs and the like, printed or otherwise impressed on paper napkins or boxes or anything that is designed for temporary use and discard. Advertising signs should not be fastened to a staff or halyard from which the flag is flown. * (j) No part of the flag should ever be used as a costume or athletic uniform. However, a flag patch may be affixed to the uniform of military personnel, firemen, policemen, and members of patriotic organizations. The flag represents a living country and is itself considered a living thing. Therefore, the lapel flag pin being a replica, should be worn on the left lapel near the heart. * (k) The flag, when it is in such condition that it is no longer a fitting emblem for display, should be destroyed in a dignified way, preferably by burning." http://www.usflag.org/us.code36.html#175 Nowhere do I read that you are allowed to fly a flag upside as a protest to a villages refusal to grant a liqueur license. His service to the military does not grant him or any other military member a special right to disrespect the flag.
