Computer and Games- Do they affect/influence your emotions? Topic: What is a research plan for science project
July 24, 2019 / By Edda
Question: I am doing a Science Project on the question- Can the Computer, or a computer game affect or influence your emotion? And if it can, HOW? I need some help though... 1- First and foremost I require Data... I was thinking of making a survey and posting it on the internet for many people to take, then I will take this Data and put in charts and yadda yadda yadda... this part is easy 2- After I aquire my Data, and put it into Charts and Graphs I have to present this to my class. As I present, I take to take a bit of my time and do a "hands on" activity with the class. I do not know what to do, should I just give THEM they survey or what.. any ideas would help. 3- This is just a request... If you know any websites that have studied this field of data could you please post it here so I may go there and research? Thanks! ALL effort would be GREATLY appriatieted

yes they do effect the emotions to prove your point just find a gamer and secretly pull the plug on his game then watch the fireworks gaming is a relaxing form of recreation mostly but problems can occur that will test even the stoutest gamer's cool computer crashes power failures console overheats game save data corrupted death of favorite character to glitch or other error dice "go cold" ie rolls a 1 for critical save party member pulls a "stupid" that gets the whole party wiped out all manner of things can go wrong even for the GM the party goes off on its own and disregards the GM's well thought out adventure the party does something totally unplanned by the GM party gets lucky and kills a key enemy the GM had expected to give them hell by a chance critical hit with "vorpal" weapon players get sidetracked by conversation not game related even live action roleplayers have issues your weapon breaks in battle your freshly built/repaired weapon fails inspection your opponent doesn't take a legal hit someone steals your gear someone crashes through your tent and destroys it beyond repair someone else takes credit for your well planned game and gets the reward

Well, in my opinion, you can play on the computer however long you want but my advice is you always have to prioritize your studies first. You're doing a good job by doing your homework first but make sure that you don't hurry through it just so you can play. Playing games for 5 hours won't necessarily affect your studies but there's a chance that it will unless you know how to balance computer and study time. Some alternatives to playing on the computer is joining after school clubs or sports. By joining clubs, you can interact and meet more people. Same thing with sports but you get a little bit more competitive.

Gaming on your computer actually exercises your brains functions due to focusing on the main objective of your game and once done. You feel like you accomplish something. Well it mattar if you game alot. My friend played lots of pc games at his house. And he was able to go to great colleges. I think it was UC. He was popular, loved to play games, social and awesome to hang out with. So no gaming will stimulate your brain. Like exercising it.

kk, it probably is because it could take your focus away from your school work and i think it would be best to play games but not as long maybe, and still have some fun but balance work, school and fun

No,not at all.I'm a hrd core gamer too,But I don't seem 2 be gettin crazy(coz I'm already am at birth) psy/physically(My frenz an athlete 4 my state,& he's a crazy gamer too).In fact, games also have some positive sides.Ask Urself, would'nt a world with too much mushy, gooey, lovey stuffs be boring(& nauseating)?Well,U can't hit/kill/etc another living thing in reality(I'm not saying U should) but U can in a game.It releases tension.Like me,I can't handle too much love at 1 go,I need sum violence in my life, sum pain!It keeps me emotionally stable,if not,I'd go homicidle in real life & kill everyone (note:millions o U out there were jus saved by games).Woohoo!Jus make sure U don't get too caught up in games, thats what gives games bad names. It's really how U use them & crontrol Urself, mon. If Ur not playing games to fulfill a lust 4 violence, there R other games out there.Games R like portals to other worlds.U can be anyone/anything u want 2 be.Imagination helps. Anyway,my answer is no.4 ppl like me,it even saves lives.Like I said, jus dun get 2 caught up.Virtual & reality is different, but if U really have to try to act like a hero, take jus the good qualities,be the good guy.And playing games can even cause U too think critically(Story line, right or wrong, bravery, curiosity).Games R good.Games R Ur frenz.Gooood gamey-wammy.HahAhAHa!

Many reasons cause such crashes 1. OS : Unstable O/S or poor cousins of Windows without proper service packs. For e.g Win NT is NOT an o/s to install games and play, they crash a lot!! 2. RAM/Virtual Memory: If you dont have enough RAM then lot of paging happens and disk write-read activities increase. Now, if you have only ONE hard disk where OS and game scratch space reside, then this complexity increases. At one stage when data becomes unmanageable for the CPU it does a core dump aka crash. 3. Incompatible CPU. You cannot install a latest game and try running it on a Pentium Celeron 200mHz!!! 4. Video RAM or Video Card : Latest games demand high VRAM capability. If your video card doesnt have dedicated RAM for this purpose then it has to be shared from the RAM of your PC, Read #2. Hope this helps. .:Fishie:.

that sounds like a Win 7 compatability problem - suggest you email tech support for those 2 games and confirm if they will work with Win 7 or not, or if you need to tweak any settings.
