i have to say that if you want a specific amount, you have to post a specific vehicle. with out that all that i can ive is the estimate that you dont want. i have been in this industry for almost 30 years and i can not give you a fluid capacity for a brake system on any given car, Oil perhaps but brake fluid is not very specific. a year is what you are missing. id still say that 3 bottles should do you well.

If its been in there very long you need a master Cly., calipers, and the rear brake hydraulics fixed either wheel cyls or calipers also. P/S fluid will swell the rubbers in all these components. And then they will no longer work and are not safe. Flushing is also necessary to remove the p/s fluid. Flushing alone will not fix the problems. Also the ABS may be ruined also and need replaced. This a a very expensive mistake you have made. So don't do shortcuts to fix or you may kill yourself or someone else As one person here has said and he is WRONG p/s fluid will damage calipers because it swells up the rubbers in ALL componets making them mushy and they will not fix themselfs by flushing alone..........UJN

If it just happened today, you can try power flushing the system. If you have drove it more than a day, then the 3 grand figure is in the ballpark. They are quoting you any and every part that has rubber parts or seals. The power steering fluid swells the seals and hoses. I would shop around, I bet you can find someone to do it for 2500 dollars.

Power steering fluid will not harm your calipers, someone is trying to B.S. you big time !! Yes you need to have the system flushed out and new brake fluid installed, but your talking about 150.00 MAX !!!! OMG ! Why do people try to take advantage of the average person ? Take your car to a different shop, you can e-mail me with your State your in and i will find a shop for you who will take care of this for you. Don't give any info in here, send it to my e-mail, I will call a shop for you and reply back via e-mail with an address. Good luck !

that should not be a problem.. the power stearing fluic might foam at brake pressure that all... fix it yourself for the price of a quart of brake fluic.. about 10 dollars.. if you have never bled brakes you need a jack and two stands. and a helper. http://www.popularmechanics.com/automotive/how_to/4213448.html this is how you do it.. buying a jack set from sears under a hundred blead brakes a 7/16 wrench ok.

http://www.explorerforum.com/ntrprize/spec1992.htm Your exploder holds 10 quarts, but that stuff is a joke that's not funny and you have to pay for it. See if the pan gasket or rear seal is leaking after you spray it off at a car wash. Either one is cheap to fix and really simple.
